The Team

Elisabelle Lightwood (girlinthemask): My name is Elise and I’m the founder of the Mortal Instruments Infernal Devices blog! I’m from Australia and I love books. My favourite character (since I have to choose, brings tears to my eyes choosing) would have to be Clary. She loves reading and drawing. She’s strong and she makes her voice heard but can often be quiet. In other words, she is a lot like me (except I don’t have some sexy boyfriend)

Jen Carstairs (4mbivalent): My name is Jennifer and I’m from Canada. My favourite character from the Mortal Instruments series is Jace Wayland. The first thing I liked immensely about Jace is uniqueness of his name; in Greek it means “healer.” Jace’s cynical sense of humour is highly amusing and effective at relieving moments of tension. Throughout the series, Jace’s character is revealed to have great depth which allows readers, such as myself, to relate to him on a stronger level than many other characters in the novels. For instance, Jace’s personality can be very arrogant and rude, but through his actions, especially towards Clary and the things Clary cares most about, he demonstrates he is very passionate, kind, and thoughtful. Watching Jace progress through his personal battles throughout the three novels has helped inspired me and provided courage and guidance to deal with my own issues.

Madison Bane (spitting-still): My name is Madison and I’m from America. My favorite character is Alec Lightwood. I wish he was in the series more, but I love that he is always there for the others and his hard-exterior-but-I’m-actually-kind-of-a-teddy-bear personality. (I’m going to stop. I could go on for a while….)

Jamie Wayland (likechildreninafairytale): My name is Jamie and I’m from Ireland. Having to choose a favourite character is the hardest thing EVER, but I have to choose Jace! I love how he has his cynical, arrogant, nobody-can-touch-me side, and then he also has the kind, loving vulnerable side. Also, his sense of humour just cannot be matched and who can resist a sense of humour?

Edgar Morgenstern (thespngames): My name is Edgar and I’m from the Philippines. My favourite character would be Will Herondale because of the deepness and complexity of his personality. It must have been hard knowing all your life no one can must love you, for loving you means harm to that person. I am not in the situation that he is, but I empathize him and it hurt me that he could not get the person he loves because of another person he also loves. I am still hoping that he gets Tessa in the end, because he more than deserves to.
